IFAJ 2025 Congress registration now open

Delegates to the IFAJ Congress 2025 can now register at https://form.jotform.com/250904699459574, The Media for Environment, Science, Health, and Agriculture (MESHA) has announced.

The Congress https://ifaj2025.meshascience.org/. will be held at Nairobi’s Ole Sereni Hotel which is a spectacular hotel set in close proximity to the Airport, and is the most iconic hotel in Nairobi that sits opposite the Nairobi National Park. Where you can watch zebras stopping for their morning drink as you sip your own out on your room’s private balcony.

When registering, delegates will select their preferred field tours, choosing from a variety of rich, immersive experiences that showcase Kenya’s agricultural diversity. Exhibitors also have the opportunity to reserve an exhibition booth directly through the same form. After filling one’s details, a delegate will receive an alert with guidelines on how to book for their hotel accommodation and pre plus post congress tours. All those who register will receive an invoice detailing how they can pay for their registration which has been given as USD700. Upon paying the Congress fee one’s participation will be confirmed automatically.

The IFAJ 2025 Congress marks a historic milestone as the first-ever edition in East, Central, West and North Africa. Only South Africa has hosted it twice in the past.

“This prestigious global gathering will bring together top agricultural journalists and communicators to explore agricultural journalism’s latest trends, innovations, and challenges in Kenya,” says Bozo Jenje, MESHA Chairman.  He added that since 1958, the IFAJ Congress has provided a platform for industry professionals to network and exchange knowledge.

“Following successful African editions in South Africa (2004, 2017), we at MESHA are proud to announce that the Congress returns to the continent for the third time, this time spotlighting Kenya’s thriving agriculture, sustainability efforts, and cultural richness,” said Aghan Daniel, Secretary MESHA who also doubles as the Congress Director.

MESHA, Africa’s leading science journalists network with over 120 members, 50 of whom specialise in agriculture reporting, is spearheading this historic event. With two decades of experience promoting science and agricultural reporting across Africa, MESHA is well-positioned to host this global gathering to showcase Kenya’s agricultural innovations.

Delegates will explore Kenya’s dynamic agricultural sector through well selected field tours, some of which have already been confirmed and are highlighted on the congress website. These include visiting Andermatt Kenya Limited based in Naivasha focusing on regenerative farming and biological solutions, witnessing advancements in dairy technology and value chain development in Nai’posha Dairy Farm, and experience the innovative world of black soldier fly (BSF) production and observe how BSF larvae is transforming the production of animal feed by providing a sustainable and affordable protein-rich alternative to traditional feeds in Harcourt Farm Limited among many other tours lined up. Another field tour will be based on Sustainable Practices and Management Framework (SPMF) by CropLife Kenya’s partners in Nairobi and its environs. This experience will provide a valuable opportunity to assess the positive effects of the Sustainable Practices and Management Framework (SPMF) on human and environmental health as well as agricultural productivity in Kenya and in the Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) sub-region.

The delegates will also be spoilt for choice as they savour the great menu of fun tours and post congress tours to national parks and other touristic attractions within the city and within a radius of just 150km from the Green City in The Sun, as Nairobi is famously referred to in touristic cycles.
